I’m delighted to announce a new apparel partnership between HOY and London based cycling company, Vulpine.
HOY Vulpine has been created to provide greater quality, comfort and style to cycling classics, at an accessible price point. The range will feature equal men’s and women’s ranges, for both performance and commuter cycling.
Cycling clothing has long been seen as a tight, bright, logo heavy lycra that’s not always attractive or pleasant to wear. HOY Vulpine aims to change this, for all kinds of cycling and cyclists. HOY has been involved in the development of the range at all points, and Vulpine is already testing Autumn Winter and Kid’s apparel.
Chris comments; “We hope we’ve designed cycling apparel cyclists want to wear, not feel they have to. The idea is that each piece of clothing is something you look forward to wearing, that
does the job and that you feel good in.”
HOY Vulpine came about after Chris became a fan of Vulpine launched in March 2012 by ex-film producer Nick Hussey. After the successful launch of HOY Bikes in 2013, Chris wanted to partner with a company that had shared values and ambition. Top of the list are quality and inclusivity. “It was essential that anyone I work with cares about providing for all cyclists, ensuring that all cyclists of all genres, ages and abilities feel welcome, and Vulpine do just that.” says Hoy.
“Cycling clothing is the butt of a lot of jokes” continues Nick Hussey. “Why not be proud of how you look, and feel good wearing something. Feeling and looking good brings more people into cycling.”
Hussey comments; “Like us, Chris is obsessed by all cycling, not just elite racing. He’s been at the very top of the sport but also had fun on all kinds of bikes along the way. Fun is an important word for us. Whether hurting yourself riding up a mountain, or pootling along a tow-path on a fine summer’s day, we want make cycling more enjoyable and accessible, and not quite as serious and intimidating as it often seems.”
Taking Hussey’s mantra of “Stylish, but it has to work first and foremost”, HOY Vulpine offers huge value in performance and style that is now accessible to many. Hence it will be carried in all Evans Cycles stores from March 2015. “We want to bring the new wave of British design and styling to a wider audience, and make it more accessible.” said Hussey.
